Want you to Smile or even LOL!

Maybe one day I'll write my final post about my Las Vegas trip. But today I want to make people laugh or smile so here it is!

On Mother/Daughter Day I was at BabyGirl's apartment. She served me cold water in a nice dainty mug at my request. She had walked into the other room and I got up to save the cup shortly after as I was done. Well there were computer cords across the floor and I made a conscious effort to LIFT my foot so I would NOT trip and fall! I have the same thing going here.

The uncoordinated person I am DID lift my foot but it still got tangled and I went tumbling down. Of course I land on my knees first and fell forwards! However, I NEVER dropped the cup. Of course I popped back up laughing. She had heard something and came running in. I announced, "I fell but I didn't drop the cup!

The wonderful daughter she is asked if I was okay. I said Yea but kept saying I didn't drop the cup! That is an accomplishment because if I have something in my hand, and I am going down, the hell with it! I am more important LMAO! But for some reason that day I held on to the mug!

No visible injuries. At first my pin in my leg got jammed but I worked it out. My pride didn't get shattered because I guess I know BabyGIrl is used to it and I am getting old enough not to let that bother me much anymore. Of course I didn't have anyone coming with all good intentions to 'help' me up and embarrass me and let everyone know someone just fell.  BabyGirl is concerned and makes sure I am okay but unless I ask for help she knows not to make a big hurrah about it. I get aggravated with MYSELF!

Anyway I thought I'd share that with you. It's okay if you smile or even LOL!

Vegas: "Think Before You Speak"

I promise I am ALMOST finished talking about my trip to Las Vegas last month.

I realize that people are ignorant and all the attempts to educate some of them are all for naught because they just don't get it!!! It's been almost two months and every time I think about what I am about to write, it infuriates me!

When MyHubby and I were coming home from Las Vegas, we decided to use the 'handicapped card'. I hate doing that.  I AM "handicapped' or disabled if you rather that term. I have learned to put my pride on the side and sometimes use the resources available to get from Point A to Point B a bit easier. That week was really tiring for me and it is such a long walk from the waiting room to the plane.

When we disembarked the plane a week before, people were walking around me and then cutting in front me. MyHubby had commented when we eventually got to the same place where ALL the people who passed me waiting for their bags, "Gee, look how far ya'll got?" Of course, those who heard, acted like "It wasn't me!"

Anyway, when we were finally called to board the plane to come home, we were beside a 90ish gentleman and his 40ish Granddaughter. He was a frail elderly male walking with assistance of a walker. We were at a standstill. The granddaughter offered us to go in front of them as he walked slowly. We thankfully declined explaining I was slow and we were not in a hurry..The plane was not going to leave us.

There we were, yet in another line but not going anywhere. When we stretched our necks we noticed a 30-40ish couple making a big ruckus. The woman, drunk was loud and telling the employee that she was handicapped and had to get on first. The employee did not buy it. She was blocking the area so no one was moving. The worker, who was a 50ish old male who had been annoyed by another passenger (Yet, another post) asked her politely to move out of the way.

She moved, for a second and as a family with small children were making their way past her, she made her way back and yelled, "I am with them!" and points at them. The mother just ignored her. As the frail gentleman pass, she scans us from head to toe, then yells, "I need a walker! I wish I was handicapped." OMG! Did she just say that, I thought. WTH? However, she was already onto the next passenger before I could put my thoughts through my brain. I was shocked. Not because I have not heard it before, just the display of ignorance that was before me..

As we finally got through the door, the worker had told her if he had to tell her again, she was going to be escorted elsewhere.

The Granddaughter and I were talking as the four of us snail paced to the plane. I told her I was so offended and Granddaughter said said she was so rude. She said, "She had no idea what it is like." I said, "Maybe she should walk in you one his shoes for one day?" The Grand daughter agreed but then chuckled and said, "We don't wanna wish on the people that would have to be caring for her." I had to agree with her.

Sigh!

What would I have told the ignorant woman if I had a chance? Besides some expletives because I was ANGRY. I would tell her she needs to watch what she says as she can offend others. And maybe, God help her, a family member or herself could BECOME handicapped, how would she feel about that?

Or what about getting in a wheelchair for a day to see what it is REALLY like to be handicapped OR be blind for a day. Or whatever her SO SMART mind could come up with. MyHubby was coaxing me forward, as he had not heard it, and people were behind me and we were already delayed a good 10 minutes by this IGNORANT WOMAN!

So before we talk, we need to THINK before we allow it to flow out of our mouths.

Vegas: Entertainment

OOPS--I had this post in drafts and never got around to publishing it. DOH ME!. Let me see if I can finish blogging about my Vegas trip MyHubby and I went to last month.

We had no clue what we wanted to do in Vegas besides tying the knot  As in previous posts, unseen circumstances prevented us from doing more..

Besides People Watch, there are many things to do in Vegas.  Don't laugh! People watching in Vegas can be entertaining!. I think MyHubby was entertained by watching drunk women in tight mini skirts falling over their HIGH HEELS and BOOBS falling out. He kept saying, "Geezus" or "Did you see that?" "

Umm No Honey, I don't go looking at other women's boobs," I would respond. He would counter, "How did you miss that?"

Anyway during my research before we left, I obtained some free tickets to The Auto Collections.

It is the world largest classic car showroom. It was in our hotel! Most of the cars were for sale. For the girls, unless you are a car enthusiast, let your guy go alone. To me it was boring although I did see a few interesting ones out of the 240+ cars.

At our hotel, in the casino there were Dealertainers. They were impersonators of singers that would perform and deal. However, when they entertained it seemed the action in the casino stopped. To me they would have them to distract the gamblers. But what do I know, right?
Some of the impersonators we saw were Rod Stewart, Madonna, Taylor Swift, Tina Turner, Toby Keith, Shakira, Lady Gaga, and Bette Midler to name a few!

One night we saw the famous Carrot Top. It was the first time I saw him live. He was hilarious! He used a lot of props! Some were good and some were WTH? The only thing I didn't like was the way he ended the show. It was almost like  coitous interruptus (Not that I ever experienced it!). Sorry for the less than G rated analogy but it is what I can come up with at this very moment.  I heard similar comments as we walked out the auditorium.

At  Harrah' hotel and casinos next door we saw Legends in Concert! It was an hour of singing along, dancing in the chair, toe tapping fun!. It brought us back in time! The host was Impersonator Whoopi Goldberg. We were entertained by impersonators of  Elvis, Toby Keith, Bobby Darin, Carrie Underwood and Donna Summer. The Dance teams was awesome! A must see!

As we ate dinner one night we saw an intense display of an erupting Volcano at the Mirage. It was absolutely breathtaking with awesome sound effects! I read about it later, it underwent a $25 million renovation in 2008.

One day we walked through the Botanical Gardens at the Flamingo Hotel and Casino. Beautiful!!

We did obtain some free tickets to the Gondola Rides but we got lost and never made it. Oh well, another time maybe.

We also noticed  a lot of the performers, like Donna and Marie were on vacation during the week..

But all in all, it was a pretty good vacation. There was just so much to do and see it can overwhelm a person like me.
