Gastroenteritis Sucks!

HI EVERYONE!

It's been a rough few weeks. I couldn't get rid of a urinary tract infection.  Then when I finally conquered that something else came up. Tis my life. Sigh.

This may be too much information but it is my life. For the past 2 months, after supper I have had excessive gas. I mean it started from the time after I ate until the time I went to bed. Passing gas is usually normal so I was kinda excited. On the other hand, deep down something was telling me it was an aura of something big coming.

I was right.

Wednesday before Thanksgiving diarrhea and cramping started. The cramping had me folded over. The diarrhea was so bad I had a thought of just getting a book, a footstool and sit on the toilet because I was going that often

Regardless, I had a nice Thanksgiving. I didn't eat a lot because I knew the cramps would come.

Friday after Thanksgiving, my reflux began and nausea was setting in. Nausea alarms me because when I start vomiting I'm prone to dehydration and weight loss. Of course, my GI doctor and regular doctor was off for the long weekend.😧

So I made my way to Urgent care. Evidently, no one could get to their doctor that day. There was a 2-1/2 hour wait  but actually I was in there for four. The Nurse practitioner said it sounds like I had gastroenteritis. He didn't want to give me anything for the diarrhea because of my history of constipation. I tended to agree with him. So he told me to drink 40 oz of Pedialyte per day and eat 3 crackers every hour.  (This was something new I've never been told to do in such detail.) He also gave me Zofrain for nausea. Zofrain rocks because it rids of the nausea without putting you to sleep.

The diarrhea finally stopped Friday night. But the cramps were horrendous. I suffered through the weekend.

Monday, I finally talked to my GI doctor's office. He is in my childhood hometown 50 miles away except Thursday's when he comes to a city 10 minutes from home. After emphasizing my dilemma to the unsympathetic receptionist she said if I wanted an appointment at the office near here they could take me DECEMBER 21. I told her there would be no way I could wait until then. So she said the earliest at the other office she could put me Dec 5th. I grudgingly took the appointment.

Tuesday, I called my GP and they took me that day.  ALLELUIA! Her diagnosis was same as urgent care. Except she gave me 3 days of Zithromycin to hopefully kill the bug and Carafate to take three times a day to coat my stomach. After taking the first dose Zithromycin I felt so much better two hours later I am able to eat a little better. I'm still queasy sometimes and my GERD is acting up but I can handle it. I get a cramp here and there. I continue to have gas.

I will keep my appointment with my GI doctor although I KNOW I will not see him. I only see him for procedures. I see the Nurse Practitioner who acts like a Robotic PDR (Physician's Desk Reference). I keep thinking I need to change and I had tried one once and that was a fiasco.

By the way, Tuesday Urgent Care called to see how I was doing. That was nice.

So there it is...reason why I disappeared again.

Thanks for stopping by.

Until next time.... be thankful for your health

Thanksgiving-5 days til Vegas

Yes, it is coming fast! I am so excited. I have two responses to my request for Guest Posts while I am gone. I have 5 more fill ins if anyone should want to submit one. It can be about anything your little heart desires! Thanks to the two who have submitted!

I've been fighting whatever everyone else is fighting, nasal congestion and feel blah! You know how you are not sick but just feel icky? That's me!

I hope everyone had a safe and nice Thanksgiving as we did. I decided to play nice and had my time with BabyGirl so she could go to her dad's on Thanksgiving Day.  MyLove and I went to his family for Thanksgiving. It was really nice.

Before I met MyLove, there was a time when I dreaded holidays. I had to share BabyGirl with her dad. It is the worse kind of feeling to have a holiday gathering with someone missing. We shared fairly.  My sister would go to her in-laws that left Mom and Dad and I. Mom cooked once. One time we went eat a resturant. I know they did it for me so I wouldn't be alone.

When MyLove came along, things just changed. Mom and Dad was relieved of the feeling of having to do something for us. I know they never felt that way! They had an idea how hard it was for me to be alone so they attempted to fill the void and they succeeded.

MyLove and I's relationship is the first relationship I've had  to think about his family. My ex had no family so I didn't have to worry about juggling schedules to see everyone. Luckily, it all came into place and has done so since we have been together.

Stay tuned for my Guest Posts starting Dec 2nd.

Although I do plan on blogging throughout the month I want to wish everyone  a Merry Christmas and Safe Holidays. Drive defensively! Don't drink and drive!

Thanksgiving/Weird Dream

Thanksgiving, weird dream
I meant to copy/paste this from my LJ yesterday but got distracted so here it is from yesterday.

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!

Tuesday, since my daughter was going to Houma to be with her friend, I decided that she and I go eat somewheres. We invited my friend/cousin to come along. Layla picked Olive Garden

If you love chocolate, you HAVE to try the Triple Chocolate Stratta. That piece of cake is one of the best chocolate cakes I've eaten. Of course the entrees were delicious as usual.

We went to my Love's brother's home and had the traditional turkey dinner (lunch). It was delicious. His mom makes this pecan pie that is out of this world. I never cared for pecan pie until I ate hers.

After lunch which was also delicious, we watched Eat, Pray and Love. It was an okay movie. I rather the book. Then we watched the edge of the seats Saints vs. Cowboys game. The Saints never fail to keep their fans on the edge of their seats. But they came through! WHO DAT?!!

We came home and I read for a bit. I am reading P.S. I Love You. I cried the first chapter but I'm better now that I'm 3/4 through LOL. I went to bed with a headache and woke up with one. It was weird morning/night.

I remember waking up with Randal on top of me (No, NOT THATT). He was telling me bye before he left for work. I remember his warm body on mine holding me while I was  thinking I need to wake up to hug him too and tell him I loved him  but just couldn't. He evidentally left me and I went back to sleep. (This did happen for in case you wonder after reading about my dream LOL) Then I woke up at 6:30 because nature was calling then I thought, "Crap, I'm so tired. Why am I so tired?, crawled back under the covers grabbing Randal's side as well and drifted off to sleep.

I keep dreaming weird dreams. In this dream I was living in a house. The outside looked like my Granny's  old house on the island  and inside was my childhood best friend's MJ's home, also on the island. It was chaotic. My mom kept telling me to "Come on! Lets get out of here!" I thought, "I can't. I can't do it.". There was a mixture of scenes as I looked out the window. One area was two men shooting at each other with pistols. Another area was some army tanks coming through. Then yet another area there were ambulances with sirens andl lights. Nearby was a calm park with kids laughing and playing on the swings.

My mom kept telling me something (I don't remember) and i kept saying "This is a dream. Get me out of this dream". I was crying and it seemed like everything was happening over and over. I felt this terror in my dream like something was going wrong. Then in my dream I woke up and told mom it was a dream. She said, "No, its not!" and then.... I REALLY WOKE UP.

Do I really want to analyze this dream? NAHH..Its still reeling in my head.

Happy Thanksgiving ALL!

I wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving. I  am thankful for all of you.

I am thankful to God for giving me my daughter who I am extremely proud of and love with all my heart.

I am  thankful to have a wonderful domestic partner who returns my love unconditionally and is always there for me. He is really a special man.

I am thankful for my parents and sister. They've seen me through a lot and always there for me. They are my heroes.

I am thankful for reconnecting and getting closer to my cousin Kathy these past few months.

I am thankful for my all of my online friends including  Jeff and Phyllis (kindred spirit).

I am thankful for good health this year.

I am thankful for having a roof over my head, enough money to pay my bills and food on the table.

I am also thankful for those people who came into my life throughout the years who were judgemental, evil or harassed m. They only taught me to be stronger and learn I didn't want to be that kind of person..

I am even thankful for my stormy relationship I had with my ex as that situation taught me what I don't need made me realize what I really want among other things.

Last but not least, I am thankful for God in my life.
