Mothers Always Know What Their Kids Need

Yesterday I went see yet a new doctor for a persistent new problem.  When I was given the potential diagnosis and the treatment I starting seeing the black hole swallowing me. I tried thinking I need to just wait for other test results.

But on the other hand regardless of the results I'm just tired of it all. I have no clue how much more my body can take.

I needed to talk to someone. Hubby was my first thought but he was at work. I didn't want to call BabyGirl because I know how much she worries about me already and didn't want to wake her up. So I called my dependable mom but I got her answering machine. I left her message with me half crying so I wasn't sure if she understood me or not. I came home and wrote my sister a note because I know she sometimes know where Mom is and will call her until she contacts her.

The whole day passed. I had to return to the office to get more MRIs. Of course, when I was having the MRI, my mom left me a message that she had talked to my sister. She loved me and was there for me anytime and anywhere. Everything would be okay and we'll get through this too.

When I returned home I called her. She could tell I was losing it. I was frustrated. I was scared. I was angry. She said, "Let it out." I sobbed uncontrollably until I couldn't anymore. She talked me down and she encouraged me as she always does. I wish I had a stronger faith as she does.

Isn't it awesome that mothers just know what their kids need at a given time?

I hope and pray I am at least half of the mother she is.

Until next time

Update Medical Status

So here I am once again. I did a disappearance act again. My Hubby dropped me off at my Mom's Sunday night so she could bring me to the doctor since Hubby had taken off the week before to be by my side in the hospital.

Let me just say this. My parents and I have been through ALOT of stuff through the years. But my mom and I are close because she has been by my side every minute I needed her to be. We've been through a lot of stuff together through the years. I cannot comprehend what I would have done without her help. I am blessed that I can count on her. I can tell she is aging and she is into a lot of things but she will drop everything for her kids, grand kids and great grand-kids. I am so very lucky to have an awesome mom like her.

Not to undermine what my Dad does for me. He is just in a different spectrum. He was the one making the money to supporting his family and taking care of my sister when Mom was busy with me. I know also if I call him and tell him I need him, he will be there. As a matter of fact, the day I was admitted to the hospital, my mom was held up with a grand kid but he came see about me, although I vaguely remember it.

Anyway. Hubby was reluctant because he wanted to be there but I told him he needed to work. He took the time off for me for three days last week without hesitation.  So the next morning Mom brings me to the Gastrointestinal Doctor's office. I, once again, did not see the doctor but the Nurse Practitioner. She only repeated what she said in the hospital. She told me to go back the next day to do a gastroscopy. She said they may need to do a esophageal dilation which I figured already.

For a gastroscopy also known as EGD, upper endoscopy or esophagogastroduodenoscopy, a tube is inserted through the mouth into the stomach and upper intestine.

We weren't expecting it to be so soon but relieved it was. MyHubby was going to take off work again but my Mom told him she was going to be there regardless if he was there or not. I told him he did not have to be there. I would not hold it against me. He had been doing a lot of back and forth already. I told him he could just sleep at home again and go to work while mom takes me to do the test. He could come pick me up the afternoon after the test.  I know he felt like he was being pulled and didn't want me to feel neglected by him. We promised he would be notified of the results and after it was over. It wasn't like I was having surgery.

The next morning I had to be there for 10:30 am without eating or drinking anything after midnight. There was a full waiting room. I handed the filled-out paperwork the Nurse Practiticioner gave me the day before. We waited and waited.

On the paperwork they covered themselves stating to arrive expecting to be there for most of the day. They weren't kidding!

Their process was they called you, went over the paper work, collected whatever money you may owe, tagged you with a name bracelet and sent you back out to wait some more.

When it was my turn to be tagged, I was NOT on the schedule.  To make a long frustrating story short, luckily I had the brochure with me with the date on it. They finally tagged me and sent me back out. I figured this was going to take longer because they had to call my insurance.

I blame the Nurse Practiticioner for not doing her job.

Anyway, at 11:55 am they finally called me. 12 noon they wheeled me into the room. Finally, I see the Doc for a few seconds while the Nurse inserted my IV. (She had to stick me twice, I am so tired of being stuck!) The anesthesiologist came explaining he is going to push some sedation medication into the IV and I'll fade out. He put the syringe into the IV port and the next thing I knew I was waking up at 12:36 pm. There was a clock I could see so that's how I know the times.

The test resulted in a few findings:

1)  Confirmation of gastritis, inflammation of the stomach lining.
2)  Esophageal ring: Not stricture: A narrowing at the end of the esophagus that was inflamed.
3)  A small hiatal hernia.

They dilated my esophagus and changed my Nexium to Prilosec and I will continue my Flagyl until it is all gone. I am going to see him or the NP, most likely Monday for follow-up.

MyHubby came pick me up after work. We came home and I was wiped out. I climbed into bed around 8:30 pm.

I can tell it will be a slow recovery from my hospital stay and procedure. Please pray that I get the strength and patience with myself to listen to my body and slow down as I did this morning.

Christmas was weighing on my mind. I left this morning and went to Wallyworld. I found the two Santa Gifts I needed and picked up my Prilosec along with a few items. I could tell my body was telling me to stop.

I made it through check out, got to my car, put my items in trunk, drove to Wendys, which is on my way home and picked up a potato. I came home, grabbed the bags of cold stuff leaving the other bags for Hubby to get when he gets home. I ate my delicious potato. AAAhhh!! REAL FOOD! Then I literally plopped into bed and slept for a few hours. I am done for the day.

I need to let go of my pride some and allow Hubby to make dinner tonight. You have no idea how hard that is to do.

Anyway that is where I am now as far as medical.

ME VS INSURANCE UPDATE

I am still working on my appeal to my insurance company. It takes a while to  research the drugs. I'm searching for the letter of approval for Provigil years back but I don't know if I'll luck out on that. Yesterday, I received my prescription for Adderall. Funny thing is he made the prescription for only a month.

Concerning my weight loss and illness in the last couple of weeks, I am feeling better. I am very impatient with myself healing. I think the Periactin is making me a little sleepy but my tummy is better. Eating like a little pig. I am continuing my ENSURE. It is not bad like I remembered it when I gave it to my patients when I worked a Nursing home 20+ years ago. Maybe the chocolate does the trick? I almost think its addictive because certain parts of the day its like I need it. It is loaded with vitamins. I found a 16ct for 17.79 at Wallyworld online. Cheapest I've seen thus far!

RELIGION

My mom just called me. She is a devout Catholic and I was raised as such. However, in the past few years I have not  been as active due to my disagreements with their "laws". I do pray every night and read my bible. Anyway, she asked me if I was interested in going to an Anointing for the Sick tomorrow. She informed me its a 1-1/2 hour ceremony. I have nothing else to do and I figured it would a) Give my mom some kind of relief and make her happy b) It couldn't hurt and c) A brief unrealistic thought of hey, maybe a miracle could happen and I could be healed of all my medical woes. HA!

MY BABYGIRL

I have seen MyBabyGirl more in the past couple of weeks than I have in 6 months. She has finished her first year of college maintaining a very good GPA 3.6 or something close to that. She is just awesome and I am so proud of her. Since the semester ended she has been sorta lost. She does not know how to relax. I am so proud of her and I love her more than she will ever know.

DREAMS

I haven't posted any of my dreams lately. I've started some so I could remember, hopefully. I have about 3 in draft. Maybe I'll get to it one day. Last night I had a dream that My BABYGIRL and I went see Andrew and his mother Brit was there along with two young ladies I don't know. Anyway I was holding Andrew and Brit told me they were selling Girl Scout Cookies and they only had 10 bags left and the price would be 19.95. So I dug in my pocket and handed Brit $20. She argued with me that I didn't have to. But I told her MyLove loved cookies for a small desert after every meal. Here's a picture of our little man.

Is he cool or what? LOL

BIG AND LITTLE
If you are following my blog, you will know I signed up to be a BIG for a child in the Big Brother/Big Sisters a few months ago. Well I know they are looking at my references on my application. MyLove got his and my BFF said that she received a phone call, called back but they haven't connected as of yet. I can't remember who else I put on my application as a reference. I guess its a sign of aging. "SIGH"

TODAY'S OUTING

My cousin, Kathy and I are having lunch. We had started a few months back but all hell broke loose with me so we are trying to get back in swing with things. I still say God made us connect for a special reason. She has become not only a wonderful cousin but also a wonderful friend.

CONCLUSION
Thank you to my Blogger 8 followers and all you lurkers out there. I follow more than being followed here but it's all good. Thanks to all my Word press, FB and LJ friends as well as those who get emails who will comment and read or just read. I see bloggers striving for more readers or giving out 'awards". Although I would like more followers  I won't fret over it. I guess I am not a faithful blogger as some are or  my blogging is not as interesting but what the hell. I started this as sorta journal. I think it is so much fun watching the reactions to those who do get and give out awards. There are a lot of interesting blogs out there.

HUGS AND LOVE TO ALL
