Easter Weekend

I hope everyone is having an awesome Easter. Ours started yesterday with a family reunion on MyHubby's father's family side. They had a total of I think 10 kids. There were many generations that attended. It was nice to finally meet MyHubby's aunts, uncles and cousins. I am now able to put a face to a name. The hosts was one of my Hubby's cousins and his wife. He had it so well planned with BBQ, Easter Egg Hunt, music etc. I was nervous as I always am going into a gathering with people I mostly do not know. However, everyone made me feel welcomed. It was a good day.

After Hubby and I went to Walmart to get a pizza for our Easter lunch. Yea, I know. Some of you think Pizza for Easter? The last few Easters Hubby had to work. It's the way we roll sometimes and we have no complaints. We're going to have a pizza and watch a movie.

BabyGirl is working. My Mom is sick with acute bronchitis. My lovely sister is having something with her little family. So we're making it "US" time.

As we were walking from the car to Walmart's entrance, there was also a mother with a 6 year old girl and 9 year old boy. Ages are estimations. The 9 year old boy was pushing the basket when he caught sight of me. Thereafter his focus was solely on me. "SIGH".

I understand people can be curious and look. But don't parents teach their kids it is not okay to stare?

He was rolling the basket staring at me so he was definitely not looking where he was going. He rammed right into the glass window next to the sliding doors almost shattering the glass.

His mom grabbed the basket, shouting, "What's the hell wrong with you boy?" He was broken out of his focus and I got the giggles. It is just so funny to see the outcome of ignorance sometimes.

Hubby said he would have liked to see the glass shatter and see how it would have been handled. Would the mother  have to pay for it? What would the kid say?

I still laugh when I think of it. Ironically, in Walmart I saw this shirt that has, "I MADE YOU LOOK."  It struck me because obviously I'm always making people look.

There was also a shirt that had something like I am blessed I am a Mom. This is so true.

Later that night Hubby and I went to the Easter Vigil at 8 pm. I need to write a post about my experience with candles one day. It was a lovely mass, even if it was 2 hours, which is an hour over the usually mass.

That's because they held a Baptism, First Communion and Confirmation for a few adult candidates. At first I, like many others, were annoyed. But then as I watched these sacraments taken place, it brought back memories when I baptized BabyGirl and my First Communion and Confirmation. It was an honor to see these young adults to choose to receive this sacraments. I sorta envied that they were able to do all 3 at once when I had to wait years to go from one sacrament to the next. It was so meaningful. Jesus resurrected and these young people are also restarting their lives with Jesus in their heart. How awesome is that?

I was amazed the rudeness of some people just walking out. During Father's sermon, a woman clickety clacked right out of the church in her high heel shoes. After communion, the pews were more empty because some just walked right out after they received communion.  Generally, that doesn't happen just for Easter, it happens every Sunday. I guess I was taught differently. But I keep thinking what is so important than spending another 15 minutes with God after Communion?

I often wonder what the priest thinks. Can you imagine standing up there talking to an audience and people just get up and walk out? Jesus is probably looking upon them disappointed.

Until next time...

Rebirth of my Blog

Happy Belated Easter! As I've previously written, I intend to write and start but never get to finish. Yesterday,  as I was reading an article about Easter. It reminded me that it was a time to rejoice and reflect on the resurrection of Jesus for Christians.

Then I thought I need to reflect and restart my blog. Just go with it. Start writing regularly again about anything. I reflected a few hours and have decided I work on it to much. I over analyze and over think. I try to make those perfect sentences to make my fellow readers to understand exactly where I am coming from. So I overwhelm myself and then don't write anything at all.

So here I am. I have one last installment of my wedding trip that took place 4 months ago. I have several others about various subjects started. I also need to return to 30 truths about me. So It is not that I have no material to write on.

Anyway....

I have been periodically reading others blogs. I see Blogger changed the format and  I'm not quite understanding why they are trying to connect to Goggle 1+. So if you have a simple explanation how to do it and why. I sure would appreciate it.

I hate that every thing wants to connect to Facebook, Twitter, etc. This 'share' things get on my nerves. Oh and then Facebook changed to Timeline. I hate it. It's just too ambiguous and our privacy is in jeopardy.

Does anyone else ever get into these phases that you get obsessed reading one particular blog?  I found this blog, Single Dad Laughing. He is a single father of an adorable son he adopted. He writes about everything he can think of and does it well. I can relate to him as a single parent. He writes about controversial subjects. He is a man of talent, integrity  and compassion. You can see that love he has for his son.  If you have a chance, I would highly recommend.

I shamefully have lost tract of my regular bloggers I used to read but my life just went topsy turvy just right when I thought things were settling down. I hope to at least restart to read them. I sometimes don't respond because well there are like 100's of comments already and I figure mine would just be a repeat of what everyone else said.

So here I am again. Hopefully I'll get the ambition to write more.

Two months ago I broke down and bought me a Mac-Air. It is my first Mac. MyLove who I will be referring to as MyHubbyQ from now on told me I deserved it. I am still learning the ins and outs of it but for the most part I like. If any of you have a Mac and can recommend some cool apps I would appreciate it.

Until next time...Peace!

We've Got Power--Easter Sunday-Dreams

As I've said previously, one of our neighbor's grandkids and kids were driving us nuts. Neighbors Are Stupid explains it all. Well yesterday, we noticed people were bringing stuff down including mattress and headboards. We couldn't believe she was actually MOVING because of our complaint. We believe they moved to another apartment down the street. We weren't requesting her to leave. When we talked to the manager, we told her that there was nothing against the neighbor, it was just her family who did not live there but came nearly every day with their loudness.

I guess that since she is moving, her sassy-needs-his-butt-spanked grandchild thought they were moving anyway and stomped up and down this morning. Once, he was walking down and he dropped his X-box. I know its Easter and I should be nice but I thanked God for paying back that brat. The X-Box didn't break into pieces but it surely slowed him down.

At last! We don't have to pay worry about our cars or stomping up and down. God answers.

                                                                EASTER

My BabyGirl and her girlfriend came. The roomie didn't come. My meal came out great although I hardly ate anything. I don't know what it is with me lately but my appetite is gone. You know how you eat something and it feels like its only growing...well that's how it is for me. I am sorry. I know that was gross.

MyLove, Babygirl, Girlfriend and I had a nice get-together. They seemed to enjoy it. I was telling the Girlfriend my experiences with God to explain to her why I believed in him and my daughter started crying. I hate doing that to her.

When Layla was conceived I asked God to make her my miracle baby. She didn't have to be perfect, afterall, who is? He answered my prayer and gave me my Babygirl. When she was born, when I prayed I asked God to please let me live until she graduated high school. He answered the prayer.

She once told me after she graduated I need to ask him to keep me for her on the earth until she graduates college. I pray and ask him but I know if something would happen to me, she would do just fine.

Anyway, we talked about other stuff, it was a great day and I got to know her girlfriend more. She is such a great person.

I've been through alot with Layla and her boyfriends then girlfriends and I can say she is one of the best she's dated.

DREAMS

As usual I've been having weird dreams but haven't written them down.

Last night I had a dream that my Ex was chasing me with a lamp shade with a sword at the end. He was chasing me around a big round table I've never seen before. I haven't seen the lampshade or sword either, that I can recall.

I was throwing bowls, plates, everything I could grab, to delay him. It worked for some time but right when he was going to catch me, I woke up.

This afternoon, after the girls left, I sat her and fell asleep for a short nap and all I can remember is a glass falling and as I was trying to catch it, it kept falling. Go figure!

Hope everyone had a safe and great Easter weekend!

Happy Easter--Random Stuff

I hope everyone has a safe Happy Easter! My whole family usually doesn't do anything special since the kids are older but my sister's birthday is usually around that time so we have her b'day party in between. However, my sister said we would just wait until her hubby comes home from Brazil because he wants to cook something for everyone.

I usually cook a little roast but I decided something different. I cooked pork shoulder Thursday. I am going to cook spaghetti and meatballs with  green beans, garlic bread and deviled eggs.  My daughter, her girlfriend and roommate are coming.

One thing I do miss. I miss Layla and I dying eggs and having a Easter Hunt. That was so much fun. She is too old now.

MyLove and I  went Easter shopping. Can't say what I bought for in case my daughter reads her Facebook, another place I write a 'blog'.

When we were checking out a lady had just as much as we did. MyLove, trying to make conversation, asked her if it was all for her or kids. She looked embarrassed and said some of both. MyLove laughs and says most of ours is for us. I scolded him for embarrasing that poor woman!

Anyway...as I took out the jar of spaghetti sauce I was looking at the servings. One serving to them is 1 tbsp and there are 50 servings for jar. I had to laugh because how many people eat one tablespoon of spaghetti? This spaghetti sauce is so delicious. It's called Cajun Power. It's all natural ingredients with 2% fat and 4% dietary fiber. We usually use Hunts Traditional tomato sauce that has a helluva lot salt and perservatives.

It's a shame all holidays for Jesus are so materialistic and people seem to forget the reason. Jesus was crucified Friday and Easter Sunday is the day of his Resurrection in my faith. I've heard various believes involving Paganism, Jewish, etc.

Isn't it ironic that the government wants to take "In God We Trust"  off our currency, they don't want to say the Pledge in schools or elsewhere, they won't allow prayer in schools and elsewhere, however, they have the weekend off. Go figure. That's our government for us!

Have a Wonderful Safe Easter!
